The West Bengal Primary TET 2022 Notification has been released. The WB Primary TET is scheduled to be held on 11th December, 2022. This is a competitive examination for the posts of Primary Teacher in the West Bengal state. The eligibility criteria, exam pattern, and important dates for the WB Primary TET are given in this article.

The West Bengal Primary TET Notification has been released

Finally, the WB Primary TET 2022 Notification has been released by the West Bengal Board of Primary Education (WBBPE). The notification is available on the official website of the Board. Eligible candidates can apply for the exam by filling the application form which will be available to fill after Durga Puja Vacation (14-10-2022). The exam is scheduled to be held on the 11th of December 2022. The WB Primary TET is a competitive exam conducted for the selection of eligible candidates for the post of primary teachers in the state of West Bengal. The exam is held once in every two years. The exam is conducted in two parts, Part I and Part II. Part I is conducted for the selection of candidates for the posts of Class I to V – which is called primary and Part II is conducted as interview for those who have qualified the Part I exam.

Exam Pattern:

The exam pattern for both the parts is as follows: The exam will be of two and half hour’s duration. The exam will be of multiple-choice type. There will be a total of 150 questions in the exam. Each question will carry one mark. There is no negative marking for wrong answers. The syllabus for the Primary TET 2022 exam is as

Only those persons who have acquired the academic and professional qualifications specified in the NCTE-Notification dated 25-08-2010 read with 28-06-2018 and also read with 13.10.2021 are eligible to apply for the TET-2022 (stated below):

Eligibility

(i) Classes I-V

Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (by whatever name known)

OR

Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and 4-year Bachelor of Elementary Education (B.El.Ed.)

OR

Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and having Diploma in Education (Special Education), a course recognized by the Rehabilitation Council of India (R.C.I.), shall also be considered.

OR

Graduation with at least 50% marks and Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.)

5% relaxation of marks in Senior Secondary or its equivalent examination (i.e. 45%) will be allowed for the Scheduled Castes (SC), Scheduled Tribes (ST), Other Backward Classes (OBC-A and OBC-B) Exempted Categories (EC), Ex-Servicemen, Physically Handicapped (PH) and for DH (Death-in-harness) category candidates.

Persons who have appeared for final examination of Two-Year D.El.Ed. Course from NCTE recognized institutions on the date of this Notification and the result is not yet published

And

Persons who have appeared for final examination of Two-Year D.Ed. (Special Education) Course from RCI recognized institutions on the date of this Notification and the result is not yet published.

And

Persons who have appeared for final examination of Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) Course from NCTE recognized institutions on the date of this Notification and the result is not yet published shall also be eligible to sit for the TET-2022.

And

Persons who are undergoing D.El.Ed./D.Ed. (Special Education)/B.Ed. Training (session 2020-2022) and who have qualified in D.El.Ed./D.Ed. (Special Education)/B.Ed. Part-I examination (session 2020-2022) will be given opportunity to apply for TET-2022.

Note: Candidates who have acquired minimum academic qualifications after the date of publication of this notification will not be entertained for appearing in TET-2022.

Language Paper:

  • First Language: Applicants will have to choose any one of the following languages as first language : Bengali, Hindi, Urdu, Nepali, Santhali, Oriya and Telugu. The choice will be on the basis of the medium of instruction in the school.
  • Second Language: English (for all)

Qualifying Marks: A candidate who will score 60% and above out of the full marks (150) in the TET will be considered as TET-2022 passed candidate. A relaxation by 5% (i.e. 55%) will be the qualifying mark for SC, ST, OBC-A, OBC-B, PH, EC, Ex-Servicemen and DH (Death-in-harness) candidates.

Application Fee:

The application mode is online. Payment of online application fees of Rs. 150/- for General candidates, Rs. 100/- for OBC-A, and OBC-B candidates and Rs. 50/- for SC, ST, PH candidates.

The candidates may pay the examination fee either by credit card/debit card/internet banking. The additional processing charges will be applicable.
